Purpose: The purpose of this webinar is to explore how Family Group Decision Making can be used to help families experiencing substance use issues. This will include a presentation from a parent who experienced the FGDM process while pursuing recovery, in depth group discussions around addiction and FGDM, as well as highlighting some innovative strategies that are being developed to use FGDM as part of the recovery process.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify substance use rates in families involved in the child welfare system nationally and in Pennsylvania
- Identify engagement strategies to use in FGDM, involving families who experience substance use
- Recognize the parent perspective utilizing FGDM in recovery
