Learn how to become a trainer While role portrayal is a huge component of the Standardized Client role, acting experience is not required. Our Standardized Clients come from all walks of and during different phases of life. Standardized Clients are part-time, temporary staff of the University. To become employed as a Standardized Client, applicants are required to submit an online application at https://www.pacwrc.pitt.edu/HumanResources.html.

If applicants meet minimum requirements, they will be contacted for a first interview, during which they will meet with simulation program staff to answer a series of job specific questions. If candidates pass the initial interview, they will be invited to take part in a group interview where the applicant will be provided a case and will be expected to come prepared to practice portraying and giving feedback.

If an applicant is selected, they will be required to complete all hiring requirements of the University, which will include a clearance check.

Once hired, the applicant will go through a one day orientation and will then work with a mentor to become oriented more to the SC role.
