FGDM Statewide Webinar: Utilizing FGDM to Reduce Congregate Care
Session 2: Transitioning from Congregate Care

November 18, 2020, 1:00-3:30pm

FGDM Session 2 (November 18, 2020) - breakout sessions between 1:33:35 to 1:58:21

The purpose of this webinar is to discuss how the Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) model can be used in the Pennsylvania child welfare system to prevent and reduce congregate care placements of youth. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a two-part series related to congregate care and the use of FGDM. Session 1 will focus on reducing congregate care through prevention, and Session 2 will focus on transitioning youth from congregate care to less restrictive settings. Throughout both sessions, the focus will align with the Family First Prevention Services Act, which calls upon all child welfare professionals to support youth remaining at home, reduce the unnecessary use of congregate care, and build upon families and communities to support youth.
